Chantale Cousineau-Mahoney

About Chantale Cousineau-Mahoney

Chantale graduated from the University of Ottawa French Common Law program and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2017. While in law school, she won the Tax Executives Institute Award for the highest marks in tax law. She also volunteered at the University of Ottawa Employment Law Clinic. Chantale has a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA), and she also has a Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA, CGA). Prior to her law practice, Chantale had an extensive career in the federal public service where she held positions of Assistant Deputy Minister and Chief Financial Officer in government departments and Crown corporations. This background in business and accounting is a unique and beneficial addition to Chantale’s legal skill set. It allows Chantale to work collaboratively with accountants and financial planners alike to meet her clients’ legal, financial and personal objectives.

Chantale provides pro bono services, as needed, to the Council on Aging of Ottawa.

Chantale is a member of our Commercial and Corporate Law Group. With a commitment to provide value-added and cost-effective legal solutions, Chantale focuses her practice on business and corporate transactions, corporate structuring and reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, share and asset purchases, and succession and estate planning. In addition, she provides advice related to various types of commercial agreements. Chantale also has extensive experience in providing legal services to medical, dental and other professionals, including incorporation, leases and preparation of partnership and shareholders agreements. Chantale is fluent in English and French and able to assist clients in both languages.
